Our Veterinarians perform a range of surgical procedures on pets ranging from spaying and neutering to emergency and orthopedic.

Some of the surgeries we perform include:

Cesarean section

A cesarean section, or C-section, is major surgery performed to remove puppies from the uterus. This is most commonly performed as an emergency procedure when there is difficulty with natural birth.

Emergency Operations

Unfortunately, pet emergencies happen, and sometimes surgical intervention is required to save your Dog. In life-threatening situations such as trauma (hit by car, fall, attacked by another animal), foreign body obstruction, or gastric dilatation-volvulus (bloat) surgery can mean the difference between life and death. Our highly trained board-certified veterinary surgeons are at the ready when surgery is required.

Foreign Object Removal

A minimally invasive procedure to remove items that have been swallowed and become stuck in the digestive tract. If an object becomes lodged in the airway and obstructs breathing, emergency medical attention is required.

Orthopedic

Orthopedic conditions that are frequently seen in canines include cruciate ligament tears, dysplasia of the hips or elbow, and arthritis. Although any gender, breed, or age of dog can be affected by orthopedic conditions, these components may be a factor in which disorder is more likely to affect your pet.

Spay

In a female animal, spaying consists of removing the ovaries and uterus. The technical term is ovariectomy or ovariohysterectomy.

Neuter

Neuter usually refers to the action of removing the sex organs usually testes from a male animal.

Tumor Removal

Removing a tumor is a common type of cancer surgery. The doctor usually takes out the tumor and some of the healthy tissue near it. Tumor removal generally requires a larger incision, or cut, than a biopsy.

GI Foreign Body

Dogs may ingest an object that can pass down the esophagus but is unable to pass out of the stomach or along the intestine (guts). This is known as a gastrointestinal foreign body. Symptoms of this usually include vomiting, loss of appetite and depression.

Amputation

An amputation is a surgical procedure where a pet’s limb is removed. An amputation may be performed due to a variety of reasons which may include a cancer diagnosis, severe trauma, fractures, infections, or chronic pain.

Enucleation

Enucleation is the surgical removal of the entire eyeball leaving behind the lining of the eyelids and muscles of the eye.
